5:30 PM Responsive Design using HTML5 and CSS3 – Brian Wood
Come see how most of us are designing for an optimal viewing experience in different devices using responsive design This session will be a fast paced look at the foundations for responsive layout, using HTML5 tags, CSS3 features like drop shadows, text shadows, rounded corners, a peak at transitions and animations, media queries, and more!

7:25 PM JQuery and CSS for your site – Brian Wood
Who doesn’t want awesome in their site? Using JQuery and CSS, you can add some amazing slideshows, lightboxes, smooth scrolling and more to your pages. You don’t have to know how to code the JQuery, just where to find it, how to paste it, and replacing the default formatting and content with your own. After a brief overview of how JQuery “works” we’ll dive into applying some of the more widely used features of JQuery.

8:30 PM Creative Photo-Digital Illustration with Photoshop – Lee Varis
Lee Varis will examine a range of techniques, old and new, using a complete poster illustration project. The step-by-step tutorial features image compositing and special effects to create and exotic fire environment for a belly dancer, as well as, a unique text treatment.

9:55 PM Adobe Proto & Photoshop Touch – Chana Messer
Take your design studio anywhere. Chana Messer will demo concepts and workflow using the iPad and Adobe’s new TouchApp Adobe Proto and how it might be used in customer briefings at their office, in a coffee shop, or on the go.

Brian Wood

Brian Wood is a web developer, an Adobe certified instructor in Acrobat X Pro, Illustrator CS5, Dreamweaver CS5, the author of 6 books including InDesign CS2 Hands-On-Training, Illustrator CS6 CIB, Adobe Muse CIB (published by Peachpit Press), and the author of numerous training DVDs including Muse, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat 8, Acrobat 9, Acrobat forms, and more.

Lee Varis

Lee Varis is a leading author and the industry’s foremost expert on digital photography. Starting his career as a commercial photographer he segued into photo illustration creating album covers for music giants Warner Bros. Records and Sony Music, as well as advertising and key art for major motion pictures studios Paramount Studios, Fox, MGM and Sega, and national publications National Geographic and Newsweek.

Early on Lee led training activities and imaging seminars on a nationwide traveling tour for Apple Computers. As an expert in color theory, Lee embraces the use of imaging software and technology to create digital images that transcend the original source materials. Over the past 20 years Lee has developed his skills as an award winning photographer but also has mastered the use of photoshop, lighting, special effects and color management.

He has authored three books, “Digital Photography for Creative Professionals, detailing the basics of the use of new technology and software in digital photography, and a second best-seller, Skin: The Complete Guide to Digital Lighting, Photography and Retouching Faces and Bodies – now in a 2nd edition, as well as “Mastering Exposure and the Zone System for Digital Photographers”. Each of these books have helped guide the pathway for many professional photographers working today. Lee is a member of APA, ASMP, NAPP, DIMA/PMA and LADIG and currently is actively involved in seminars for Julia Dean Photographic Workshops and Light Photographic Workshops, as well as contributing articles to various publications such as Design Graphics, PEI, PC Photo, Rangefinder and Digital Photo Pro.

Chana Messer Fine Artist, Designer, Trainer and Software Evangelist
Teaching at the university level for 25+ years in the fields of Fine Art, Digital Imaging in the Departments of Visual Arts at UCLA. Lead Instructor at the Walt Disney Company.
She is an Adobe Certified Expert, Adobe Partner, Adobe Community Professional, part of the Adobe Professional Freelance Team, and an Adobe User Group Manager. As such she has been invited to present at Adobe events at Mac World and AIGA, Adobe MAX and other events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Chicago, New York and Tel Aviv.
